Yikes! Looks like someone applied a healthy amount of bondo at some point, as if they were frosting a cake. The lower rear wheel well is more or less made of it. Lower rear part of the front fender too. It's just cracking and crumbling. This is why body filler should not be used for structural repairs to metal. Want to make a bunch of ugly little trim holes go away without busting out the MIG welder? Fine. But for the love of god, don't try to make sculptures out of it. Because it'll fall apart and look like crap. All it takes is a little bit of moisture, and you're left with a bigger chunk of missing metal than when you started. Same problem happens with pop-riveted sheetmetal repairs.

A damn shame, because aside from the obvious issues, this is one sweet '61. Between those unique curves on the flanks, to the hard creases and two tone paint, I'd say she's a rolling work of art. Back in the day, LeSabre meant something. It meant cool, unique, and refined. Added a four-door version of this car to my dream car list. :D

Those are some fine Buicks. Too bad this one is in such rough shape.

That was a sweet ride in it's day. The mid-80s Chrysler coupe is an odd stablemate as well.
